We’re hiring! Use your accounting skills to make a difference

Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling (ISWR) is looking for a detail-loving, mission-minded Accounting Specialist to help manage the financial backbone of our recycling and waste operations.

As a division that blends public service with environmental impact, this is not your average accounting job – it’s a chance to support local sustainability, reduce landfill waste, and ensure public resources are well managed through data-driven decision-making, thoughtful financial planning, and collaboration with a mission-focused team.

As Teton County ISWR’s Accounting Specialist, you’ll handle a wide range of accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting responsibilities. This includes tracking grant, operating and capital project expenditures, managing recycling commodity and refuse revenue, compiling tonnage-based forecasting reports, and coordinating with auditors and oversight of committees. You’ll also contribute to the development of annual operating and capital budgets, support accounts payable and receivable, and help assess the financial performance of key waste diversion programs.

If you’re passionate about numbers and environmental impact, this role is for you! You’ll join a hardworking, values-driven team, turning financial data into actionable insights that strengthen programs, improve diversion rates, and support long-term sustainability goals.

Position Highlights:

  • Compensation: $35.18 – $40.02 DOE (additional consideration may be given for exceptionally qualified candidates).
  • Full-time role with excellent Teton County benefits, including 100% employer-paid paid premiums for individual or family medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • Access to the Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) Pension.
  • Generous paid time off, eleven paid holidays, wellness hours, ski pass benefits, START Bus discounts, and more.
  • The last person loved the job so much, she stayed 22 years!
