Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

Spring in here (Wyoming style that is), and it’s a great time to observe seasonal RRR practices.

  • Conduct a Spring cleaning and Reduce clutter at home by purging unwanted items – Reuse items by donating to local thrift stores, the Habitat for Humanity Restore and other organizations in need; check with neighbors to see if items can be reused; host a neighborhood garage sale.
  • Spring Clean-Up Week is May 5 through the 10 this year.  Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling is proud to team up with the Town of Jackson and Terra Firma Organics to offer Free compostable yard waste bags and composting services during this week again this year.  The Rotary Clubs of Jackson Hole will be orchestrating the 46th annual roadside clean up on Saturday, May 10th.  The Recycling Center will offer 1/2 price electronic waste recycling and 1/2  household hazardous waste disposal during Spring Clean-Up week, and Trash Transfer Station will be offering discounted rates and extended hours for residents during this week as well.  Click here to view all the discounts and services offered.

And be sure to take advantage of our recently added recycling services:

Textiles Recycling – Deliver textiles unfit for resale/donation to the Recycling Center for redistribution and reuse.

Plastic Film Recycling – Place stretchy plastic bags and film in with grocery bags and recycle this ever-abundant material instead of throwing it away.  More information on acceptable plastics here.

Book Recycling – Put soft cover books in with phone books at any of the big blue bin community recycling  sites, and deliver hardback books to the Recycling Center for redistribution and recycling.  Please check in with the Teton County Library to see if they can reuse books locally before recycling.

Thanks for all you do to incorporate RRR practices into your everyday lives.  Call the Community Recycling Center at 733-7678 or visit our county webpage at www.tetonwyo.org/recycle for more information.
