JH2O Mobile Water Station – Refill Don”t Landfill!

JH2O Mobile Water Station – Refill Don”t Landfill!

Earlier this year, the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – RRR – program of Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling assumed management of the JH2O project – established originally by the 2013/2014 class of Leadership Jackson Hole.  The mission of the JH2O Project is to reduce our community’s landfill impact and cultivate awareness of Jackson Hole’s sustainability goals. By providing convenient access to water bottle refilling stations throughout the Town of Jackson, the JH2O Project will directly reduce the footprint of Jackson Hole as well as impress upon locals and visitors that Jackson is a leader in sustainability. In partnership with Teton County & Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, the Town of Jackson, and Teton County as well as other local organizations, the JH2O Project brings water bottle filling stations to downtown Jackson at five highly visible and heavily trafficked locations.

This last year RRR also partnered with St. John’s Medical Center and the Teton Village Association to help fund 3 water filling stations at the hospital and one in the Teton Village commons providing folks access to delicious, free, filtered Jackson Hole tap water and helping to reduce the need for disposable water bottles.

The JH2O project also built a mobile water filling station to be used at events held on Town and County properties such as our public parks.  This water station received a ton of use and positive reviews at the Peoples Market, Jackson Hole Live! concerts, and Old Bill’s Fun Run.  This station is available to borrow for event held on Town and County properties:  Silver Star Communications did just that for it’s recent company picnic and had this to say.  We will soon be packing this water station up for the winter; look for it at local outdoor events next summer.

Thanks for using your refillable water bottles and the JH2O community water filling stations to help Teton County produce less waste and become more sustainable.  Refill don’t Landill!
