Recycling site volunteers

This summer, four volunteers from Grand Teton Lodge Company rolled up their sleeves to help keep Teton County’s community recycling sites safe, clean and inviting. Over two separate days, they cleared well over 100 pounds of litter, swept pads and tidied drop-off areas.

The project was coordinated by Rachel Gallagher from GTLC Maintenance, drawing a mix of volunteers from across the company. Volunteering is part of the company’s ethos: Administrative staff commit to a certain number of community projects each year.

This round, the employees chose to support Teton County Solid Waste & Recycling in recognition of a growing partnership in recycling and food scrap diversion. The company also participates in other service projects throughout the year.

On behalf of staff and everyone who uses the community recycling drop-off sites (see full list below), we are grateful for their time, energy and commitment to keeping Jackson Hole beautiful and moving closer to our Road to Zero Waste goals.

THANK YOU!

New adopt-a-site program takes off

In related good news, Recycling Center Manager Larry Hartenstein did a community call-out in early August, asking for businesses, orgs and individuals to join in a new year-round Adopt-a-Recycling-Site Program.

Larry’s thrilled to report that the response was overwhelmingly positive. Within days, more businesses signed up than we had sites available. These partners will help keep community recycling locations clean, tidy and welcoming year-round. We’re thrilled to see such strong local commitment to the Road to Zero Waste.
