Just 10 days until Zero Waste Week (Oct. 12-17)!

Join in celebrating 35 years of community recycling in Teton County with free, all-ages events. Come get inspired and have some fun!

1) Recycling Center Open House & Recycled Art Show

Sunday, Oct 12, noon-4 p.m. • Teton County Recycling Center •

Tour the facility, meet the team, see 70(!) fabulous Recycled Art Contest entries and vote for People’s Choice. Great for families — touch-a-truck and learn about the mysteries of what happens to materials after you recycle them. The food truck Southern Hogspitality will be serving up BBQ (food for purchase). 

2) Keynote with Pulitzer Prize–winner Edward Humes (Total Garbage: How We Can Fix Our Waste and Heal Our World)

Friday, Oct 17 • Reception 5:30 p.m. (Center for the Arts Lobby) • Talk 7 p.m. (Center for the Arts Theater) •

An engaging, solutions-focused talk on tackling big environmental problems with easy steps. Free and open to all. Come early to toast Jackson’s legacy of sustainability (hors d’oeuvres; cash bar). 

3) Free Family Film: Disney-Pixar’s “WALL-E”

Friday, Oct. 17, 2 p.m. (Center for the Arts Theater) • No School Day •

A funny, heart-filled story with a powerful message about caring for our world. Perfect for families, students and anyone who loves movies and the planet.
