31 Oct Fall Clean Up Week begins Saturday at Teton County Trash Transfer Station

Jackson, Wyoming, Oct. 31, 2025 – The Town of Jackson and Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling invite the community to participate in this year’s Fall Clean Up events, scheduled for the first week of November.
Residents have two options for free residential yard-waste drop-off for composting:
- Throughout the week at the Teton County Trash Transfer Station during normal operating hours, or
- ONE DAY ONLY on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Rodeo Grounds in the Town of Jackson, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Due to popular demand, Teton County has added an extra Saturday this year for free yard-waste drop-off at the Teton County Trash Transfer Station, with dates running from tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 1, through Saturday, Nov. 8. Operating hours are 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Residents may bring up to 500 pounds of clean yard waste, such as grass clippings, leaves and branches, which will be composted locally into new soil. Normal rates for yard waste are $103.00 per ton (5 cents a pound), or for most smaller household loads, a minimum charge of $10.
Each spring and fall, the town and county team up with local waste management companies to offer this popular freebie as a means to encourage residents to keep valuable organic materials from being buried in a landfill in Idaho when they can otherwise be composted locally to support gardens and the environment.
The agencies also encourage residents to bring Halloween pumpkins and Jack-o’-lanterns for free composting. To qualify, they must be cleaned of decorations, candles and paint to ensure compost is safe, clean and toxin free.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the businesses and teams that generously donate their time and services to make this event possible, including New Waste Removal, Westbank Sanitation, Teton Trash Removal, Arbor Works Organics, and the dedicated Town and County public works and ISWR crews,” said Cindy Harger, Teton County Waste Diversion Outreach Specialist said. “Their support is what makes this event such a success.”
